So you’d like to get to know a bit about the chick “behind the curtain”? Well, for starters, my name is Erin and I’ve loved fitness and nutrition my whole life. I was a super active kid, but my study of fitness and nutrition began in earnest at about 15 years old. At that point, I lived in a small town in Alaska where pretty much the only thing to do was go to the gym, so I did. It just so happens that I LOVED it. I started subscribing to fitness magazines, took some health courses, began logging my workouts and tracking my progress – and the rest is history. I never get tired of this stuff!
I’ve worked in the fitness industry off and on over the years. First at a gym and rehab center as a fitness aide, then as a manager at Flywheel Sports. My goals for 2015 include getting my personal training certification, nutrition certification, and possibly getting certified to teach group exercise. I’ve got the knowledge, the experience and the passion, but I need the official credentials.
I’m passionate about making healthy living not only my personal way of life, but making it my livelihood as well. Empowering others to learn and achieve a healthy lifestyle is more energizing and inspiring than anything else I’ve ever done. So here I am with this site hoping to make a difference, because I can’t think of anything I’d rather do!
My favorite ways to get fit:
- Lifting (my all-time fave)
- Dancing/Pole fitness
I’m always down to try new activities and classes, but these are pretty much my go-tos. I will be trying indoor rock climbing soon and am super excited, so that may eventually make it onto my list 🙂
- Pasta (yes, past can be part of a healthy diet!)
- Tuna patties
- Egg & avocado sandwich
- Does coffee count? 😉
Despite what many think, you can eat a wide variety of delicious foods and stay in great shape. I like to create healthy variations of popular dishes – if you get creative with recipes, you’ll never get bored with your meals.
